UK Exporters Look East to China

UK Exporters Look East to China

A large delegation of UK food and drink companies will be heading out to China next month, all hoping to increase their exports to the nation.  The delegation will be exhibiting at Food and Hotel China (FHC) in Shanghai, China’s leading tradeshow for imported food and drink.  FHC attracts over 50,000 visitors looking for foreign foods and serves as a brilliant platform to make new trade contacts in China.

In addition to the show, the delegation will take part in a networking event at the prestigious Peace Hotel in Shanghai and a continuing trade mission after FHC will visit two further cities of Hangzhou and Nanjing, both home to over 8million people and some of China’s leading retailers.

PS8 is delighted to once again organise the Department of International Trade supported UK pavilion stand at FHC.  The UK stand usually attracts serious business at the show reflecting the growth of UK exports into the region year on year.

Common trending themses this year include healthy food and drink.  The Chinese consumer is looking to make healthier food choices and imported foreign products are often deemed to be of higher quality than those made within China, due to some recent high profile food scares within the market.

-New exhibitor, Appy Food and Drinks, a multi-award winning company, will be showcasing their branded children’s drinks range including Peppa Pig Juices and Roald Dahl drinks, made with all natural ingredients.

-Yeo Valley is the largest family-owned dairy business in the UK, the number 1 organic dairy brand and can be found in 1 in 3 UK households.   They make everything from Yogurts to Milk including Ice Cream, Butter and Cream.

Their teas are served in an innovative foil stick concept, just simply place the T-Stick in a mug, add hot water and stir to allow the delicious tea flavours to infuse out of the stick.
