UK Exporters Look East to China

UK Exporters Look East to China

A large delegation of UK food and drink companies will be heading out to China next month, all hoping to increase their exports to the nation.  The delegation will be exhibiting at Food and Hotel China (FHC) in Shanghai, China’s leading tradeshow for imported food and drink.  FHC attracts over 50,000 visitors looking for foreign foods and serves as a brilliant platform to make new trade contacts in China.

In addition to the show, the delegation will take part in a networking event at the prestigious Peace Hotel in Shanghai and a continuing trade mission after FHC will visit two further cities of Hangzhou and Nanjing, both home to over 8million people and some of China’s leading retailers.

PS8 is delighted to once again organise the Department of International Trade supported UK pavilion stand at FHC.  The UK stand usually attracts serious business at the show reflecting the growth of UK exports into the region year on year.

Common trending themses this year include healthy food and drink.  The Chinese consumer is looking to make healthier food choices and imported foreign products are often deemed to be of higher quality than those made within China, due to some recent high profile food scares within the market.

-New exhibitor, Appy Food and Drinks, a multi-award winning company, will be showcasing their branded children’s drinks range including Peppa Pig Juices and Roald Dahl drinks, made with all natural ingredients.

-Heath & Heather, the UK’s No.1 health sector tea & herbal infusion brand bring their award winning teas to FHC.

-Plas Farm is the leading frozen yoghurt manufacturer in the UK and will be showcasing their Frozen brand at FHC.  The range includes two dairy free ‘Iced Coconut’ desserts which have recently been part of the Innovation Selection at SIAL Paris.

-Whitworths meet the growing demand for great tasting but healthy snacks.  The UK market leaders in dried fruit will exhibit their Shots packs.  Each pack of Shots combines delicious and nutritious blends of carefully selected dried fruit, nuts and seeds with a hint of tasty indulgence to help and not hinder your healthy eating plan – and what’s more, they’re all under 100 calories per pack.

-Yeo Valley is the largest family-owned dairy business in the UK, the number 1 organic dairy brand and can be found in 1 in 3 UK households.   They make everything from Yogurts to Milk including Ice Cream, Butter and Cream.

-Provence Brands is the partner of 3 award winning UK premium brands: Cornish Sea Salt, hand harvested sea salt, Simply Cornish with hand crafted luxury biscuits and The Great British Crisp Company, traditional British flavoured crisps.

In addition to healthy products, the pavilion also sees a strong presence from innovative and high end brands.

-Blue Keld provides a full range of still and sparkling mineral water products in glass, PET and in over 10 different flavours with a premium ‘Artesian’ range exclusive to Blue Keld. FHC_2015.jpg

-T-Sticks are UK tea brand with a difference and are looking to bring their unique tea concept to China.  They source the highest quality leaf tea and serve the tea in a stylish unique experience, it's not a tea bag. Their teas are served in an innovative foil stick concept, just simply place the T-Stick in a mug, add hot water and stir to allow the delicious tea flavours to infuse out of the stick.

-An innovative alternative to the old fashioned style milk pots, DairyStix are made from 100% Farm Assured British milk and boast 50% less packaging which is better for the environment and at reducing distribution costs.
